Dear Ron and Hazel      Christmas greetings from the Applemans.  The reverse is a picture of an Anna's Hummingbird that nested in our redwood tree this year.  We had a great tme watching her 2 babies grow up.       We're about the same as last year at this time.  Eric is away at College at UC Davis and Miguel is at UC Berkeley.  Alex is in the 11th Grade and has 1 1/2 more to go til he is off to college.       Michael is overly busy with his chairmanship.  The battles for space are unending.  This last April we did get a trip to Costa Rica tho, mostly because the Chair of Biology is on the Organization of Tropical Studies Board.  O.T.S. had their meeting at La Selva a jungle field station in Costa Rica.  We thoroughly enjoyed our escape from L.A.      Have a Happy Holiday  Irma
