Creek bed at Lake Silverwood State Recreation Area—San Bernardino Mts. California 12 Oct '02.  16 December 02 Dear Ron and Hazel,       Another year has flown by—I haven't found all that retirement spare time yet!  This year has been mostly a fix up the house one.  We had new double paned windows put in (to replace the rusty, putty falling out, scratched ones).  They look great and are supposed to be energy efficient.  We also had the whole outside of the house painted.  Inside I repaired all the sills and surrounding and painted—I still have more painting to go :-{  We are putting in a new ceiling in one of our bedrooms this holiday season.  All of our sons will come down to help–Thank goodness.  I have spent the last month sanding, staining and varnishing 27 12 foot tongue and groove cedar boards for this project.  M. Michael still makes it into work several days a week though he has a bad case of arthritis.  Hes due for knee replacement in January.  I am fine—spend non-house time in the garden with my flowers.  Hope you are fine.  With love from the Applemans
