Dear Ron & Hazel,

Our card's picture this year is taken from a Ridge in the Santa Monica Mountains looking to the north.  'Way out there is the San Fenando Valley and a place called Thousand Oaks.  The Santa Monica Mts run behind our house--about 2 blocks away so are our most frequently used hiking spot.  The picture shows spring time (flowers, green grass, little smog)  from an elevation of almost 3000'.

How have you been.  We're much the same.  The "kids" will be home for Christmas (Eric from Washington D.C., Miguel from New York and alex from Palo Alto, CA).  They are still mostly in the student mode of life...tho more independent.  Hope you are all fine and the new decade will be a good one for you--The Applemans

Dear Don and Sussy,

This is a view from Boney Ridge, Sta Monica Mountains looking north to the valley. Out there somewhere is Thousand Oaks or maybe Camarillo. This is really a nice area; we should try and go there together sometime next spring.

We enjoyed your Argentine dinner and seeing your "new" house. Were still not remodeling tho the building permit will be obtained next tuesday hopefully. It sure does take a long time to get going on this type of business doesn't it!

Meantime have a nice holiday and 1990 (How time does fly!!)

Dear Mom,

We liked this picture so chose it for our Christmas card even tho its not Christmasy. The area is called The "Pumpkin Patch" and is located on the Boarder of Anza Borrego and places to the east. We hiked a 5 mile road to get to the area seeing as how were not ATVers, jeepers or bikers. This was our last Christmas' campaign trip. This year we haven't any idea yet what we are doing. Our sons are not great communicators so well just wait and see what happens.

Have a Merry Merry Christmas. Can't believe its almost 1990!!!  Happy New Year too  MIEMA
